Memorial Day

Hello all.  Hope everyone had an amazing Memorial Day weekend.  I had the pleasure of watching my boyfriend's dad march in his hometown parade.  Boy, was it a hot one.  91 degrees, a slight breeze, and sun that could melt metal.  I was smart enough to wear light clothing, had my long hair up and away from my face, and simple makeup.

I have to give it up to Make Up Forever's Aqua Creams.  I wore shade number 15 as a wash all over the lid.  This held up even when I took off my sunglasses and started to perspire heavily.  I must say that two of my to-go-to products let me down.  First up is Bobbi Brown's Long Wear Gel eyeliner.  I wore this in shade 27 Caviar Ink on the waterline.  About an hour into being outside in the sun, this had already vanished from the waterline, with some patchiness that just looked bad.  The other disappointment was my beloved Tarte Amazonian 12 hour wear blush in Tipsy.  This lovely orange color simply melted off of my cheeks within the first hour of being outside.

I had brought with me some spray sunscreen by Neutrogena, a water atomizer, and tons of bottled water.

I haven't photographed my last little haul yet, so please be patient.  I promise to have that up by tomorrow.

A career change is not always the easiest thing to go through.  I am finding this out now.  I am also finding out that people may be very passionate about how they feel about something or someone, but given the right circumstances, will change, and adopt what they had just thrown away.

Night everyone...until tomorrow.

CCO Haul 5/28/2011

A very rainy day here in NW Indiana.  This was my mom's birthday weekend, and decided to take her to Michigan City to go shop at the outlets.  Ended up raining super hard all morning and afternoon, which made walking the outdoor mall a feat!  After shopping for her, I made a quick stop at the CCO, and picked up two pigments.  Since I am not at home, will take pictures later.

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend.

Small Haul 5/27/2011

Hello! Here is the small haul I promised a few days ago...

I got the Hot Off the Red Carpet Collection by LORAC. Inside it contains Tantalize Me baked bronzer ( I have read that some people think it is similar to a MAC MSF) 2 baked eyeshadow duos in Tempt Me and Tease Me. Tempt me is half true champagne and half burnished dark chocolate brown. Tease Me is half bright bronze, half pale blue, almost akin to MAC's Mutiny, but not as shimmery. The last part is the Multiplex gloss in 3D. A gorgeous bronze with a bit of a pink hint and tons of glitter running throughout. I almost forgot that this comes in the most ridiculously cute gold clutch with wrist strap.

This is part of LORAC's summer line.

Also in the picture, is a Sonia Kashuk small duo-fiber brush. This was a bargain at $9.99. I have used this brush with the bronzer in the kit and am now in love.

Rainy yesterday, and rainy today. It does not matter if the weather does not cooperate with me tomorrow, I am feeling taking more pictures and posting some more for everyone!

A happy bride = a happy me!

Excellent day today!

Did my friend Larissa's first wedding makeup trail. It went amazing.

I am thoroughly convinced I found my summer to go to for cheeks. It is LORAC's Tantalize Me bronzer over Benefit's Cha Cha tint. Sooo pretty!

This morning was very sunny out, so I am hoping to grab some of that light to be able to do some awesome swatches.

How did everyone do today?

Here's a question...what is an item you have in your collection that you keep, but have no idea how to use?

New goodies!

Hello all! Today was another warm one, and we had a bit of a storm too. Did a lot around the house...cleaned, collected trash, blah blah blah. I made some amazing manicotti that turned out really really well! My roommate had 4 manicotti, and they were huge.

So, my roommate when to get a haircut, and while at the mall, I decided to stop at Sephora Inside JC Penny. I was finally able to get the LORAC Hot Off The Red Carpet Collection. It is a 4 piece kit that comes with a cute bag. No pictures tonight. Promise to update tomorrow, and will try to get some good light and maybe try my hand at a swatch or two.

I have a friend coming over tomorrow for a makeup trial, as she is getting married, and has asked me if to do her makeup. Have my train cases full of stuff she will hopefully like!

I am off to bed now. :)

Some link love...

Hey guys! Super warm and rainy day today. That equaled out to not a good makeup day. Though I have to sing praises to Make Up For Ever's aqua creams. I wore #13, which is a pinky champagne color, and it held up really under the humid air.

Went to TJ MAXXX and was trying to find a summer bag. Alas, I left without a new bag, but was able to pick up an unopened, 1oz Pink Sugar Sensual! I do not know many people who actually like this scent, and it may be a bit heavy for summer, but I LOVE IT!

Also got a small, cross body bag that is black and pink for when I go shopping. Efficiency is the way to go!

Don't forget guys, for those who love and are into drugstore makeup, the Sunday paper carries many coupon circulars that contain great coupons on Cover Girl, L'Oreal, Garnier, Rimmel, Sally Hansen, etc. Make sure to match these up with store circulars for the ultimate in beauty deals. Places like Rite-Aid and CVS have store cards for additional savings, or Wal-Greens has register rewards that you can use towards future purposes.

A few other places you can find me...

Good luck on your next drugstore haul. I need to get my facial on and then get to bed!

Small haul 5/20/2011

Another small haul for the week. I purchased this set as part of HSN's "Today's Special" that they had advertised.

Inside of this kit, there was a full size Bad Gal Lash, a deluxe mini of High Beam, a full size Instant Brow Pencil in Medium, and a not yet released to the public Cha Cha Tint.

This tint is beyond gorgeous. They call it a Mango colored tint, and depending on your skin tone, may or may not hold up to that description.
Cha Cha tint is very much like Posie Tint in that it is quite milky and thicker than Benetint. It is super easy to blend, but like Benetint, has a small window of blend time. On cheeks, it gives a coral-peachy-orange glow. I mean your cheeks actually look juicy. That is the best word to describe this! On lips, after two coats for me, I find that the tint actually leans a bit orange red, which is swoon worthy. It has been cloudy here, and my apartment does not get decent light, but I will try swatch this soon. I do not think any of the other swatches I have seen do it justice, but if you must see this, go to hsn.com to purchase, or www.temptalia.com for swatches. Thanks again!

Face vacation...what?

Ah yes, I have been staying relatively product free this week. The weather here in Michigan has gone from hot, to cold and damp. My skin and these changes are not really simpatico.

Have not really done much the past few days. They have been a little rough for various reasons. I do not know why I keep putting off my Crown brush order (I am doing the makeup for a wedding that will take place in a month and half), and I really need to do so. If you are ever in the market for new, quality brushes at moderate prices, head to www.crownbrush.com. This company is based out of Crown Point, Indiana, which is about 25 minutes from my hometown there.

I am looking forward to getting my new Benefit package from HSN. It contains the new Cha Cha tint that is not available in stores yet. You can see high quality swatches of it at www.temptalia.com.

Alright, I should head to bed now. Am super thankful I still have some Mario Badescu Buffering lotion. The change in weather has broken me out :(.

A small CCO Haul

I hope everyone's weekend went well! I went back home to spend some time with my Mom, which was too short, but her birthday is in two weeks, and I shall be back. I was fortunate enough to stop by Michigan City and the CCO at Lighthouse Place. I was able to score the Alakazam Chocolate eye kit from MAC from the Magic, Mirth, and Mischief collection.

In that same trip, I also acquired Pink Copper, Spiritualized and Fuschia pigments. My intentions were to pick up some more Bobbi Brown products and even head to the Bare Escentuals store for brushes and blushes, but ran out of time. I will have swatches of these products up later. Did anyone haul this weekend?

Just another day...

It is starting to get really warm outside. That is a good and bad thing. I am looking forward to warm nights, being out with friends, and working out and sweating twice as much as I normally do. Which always makes me feel good. It also means that sweater season is over, and that makes me quite sad. Well, I am still without work. I really wish the last place could have worked out, but there was way too much going on there to justify staying there. I do miss the paychecks, and the lifestyle those paychecks paid for.

I have a wedding coming up where I will be doing the makeup. I have slowly and steadily gotten my kit up to par for this event. It is for a close friend that I am hoping to make very happy. This is our gift to her. I still have to purchase more brushes, cotton and such. The greatest thing would be word of mouth. To have a few of these to do over the summer for supplemental income would be amazing. I am thinking of ordering a cube, that way it is simple, and I still get paid at point of service.

I am really loving the Hello Kitty perfume my best friend bought me from Sephora. It is such a summery scent. And I also have to mention that Tarte's Amazonian clay 12 hour wear blushes are AH-MAY-ZING!
