L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Perfecting Makeup - swatch

L'Oreal Magic Nude Perfecting Makeup
I am always on the lookout for the next bargain in beauty.  Especially when that means I can dupe an expensive product I have lemmed over.  L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Perfecting Makeup was the bargain solution to a very expensive want of mine.  When Armani's Maestro liquid foundation came onto the market, it created a roar!  A very liquid foundation contained in a bottle with a dropper system that blended onto the skin and created the most natural yet perfected face around.  What?  I know, right?  Sounded too good to be true.  But people were having success with that foundation...unfortunately, that foundation was also over $50 USD, and I had to take a rain check.

But with L'Oreal, I had heard that this was an exact dupe.  Forgive me as I could never get close enough to Armani's to tell, but google it, people have stated they are dupes.  I purchased Magic Nude at my local Meijer for $8.00 USD, and that was on sale with a coupon.  I have seen this foundation retail up to over $12 USD, so it is a bit pricey for a drugstore foundation, but stay with me.  Inside the lovely glass bottle, you get 0.91fl.oz/27ml of liquid goodness.  The Magic Nude range comes in 12 colors, from light to dark, which is a nice change from usual drugstore foundation colors.

L'Oreal Magic Nude  - packaging
L'Oreal Magic Nude - 328 Sun Beige
L'Oreal Magic Nude Sun Beige - direct sun / no flash
The color I chose was Sun Beige 328.  It was the one that closely matched me at the time.  For my latina skin tone, it was nice finding something that was really spot on for my face!  On the back of the bottle, it gives you application tips as this is not a foundation you want to use with a brush or sponge.  Why?  It is just too liquid.  Once you shake Magic Nude, you take a few drops and apply/blend on your face.  The feel of this foundation is unreal.  It almost feels oily when you blend it on your skin and then you get a powdery dry down.  I did not need much of this to achieve a fully covered face.  Now that it is getting warm, I find that I have to powder my t-zone around hour 3 of wear, but the feel this has, even in the warm weather, is so nice, I am willing to touch up!  It is so light on the skin it is unreal.  Now, I am combo/oily, and my t-zone gets oily no matter what, but I liked that this foundation did not break down on my face.  Your mileage may vary depending on how oily you are/may get.  I will continue to purchase this...a bit of luxury at a drugstore price!

L'Oreal Infallible eye shadow - 890 Bronzed Taupe (swatch/review)

Ladies and gents, I am back!
After taking some time away for personal business, I am glad to be back here reading your blogs and blogging away!

There has been a huge uproar in the beauty community about these little pots of awesomeness....what awesomeness, you ask?

L'Oreal Infallible Bronzed Taupe
Here we have L'Oreal's 24hr Infallible eye shadow in 890 Bronzed Taupe.  This lovely shadow comes in a screw top style pot with a plastic "stamper" insert to keep eye shadow fresh and tamped down.  The pot contains 3.5g of product.  I usually see this product retail for about $8.00 USD.

The feel of this shadow is kind of like a spongy, wet powder.  It is a unique texture but not at all hard to work with.  I have used this shadow both wet and dry and have found no problems using it either way.  I use both brushes and my finger to apply this to my eye.  I find that because of its consistency, it helps in adhering it to the brush and my eye lid.

swatch - Bronzed Taupe - direct sunlight
The color is very much a taupe, but a taupe with tons of versatility!  On my skin tone, I do not find that it leans purple or grey on  me...a soft taupe with bits of brown and golden cast.  I have seen other gals with this shadow on and think that this is a suitable neutral for a lot of skin tones.

swatch - Bronzed Taupe - direct sunlight
The sheen to this product is amazing.  I do not find it to be glittery at all...just a shimmery sheen that looks like wet metal.  I do have to use this with a primer as I have tried it without one and I did experience creasing.  But please do not let that stop you from trying this.  It is a lovely shadow that wears well, works well, plays well with other shadows and different types of primers.

You can find these at Ulta, Walgreens, CVS, RiteAid...but this color has been very popular and sold out quite frequently!

Thanks for stopping by boys and girls!

Small Haul 12/31/11 - 1/2/12 (drugstore)

Happy New Year ladies and Gents!!!

I did not have a lot of resolutions when it came to the beauty department.  This new job has helped me get a few things, but I have be smart with my money this time around.  One thing I will definitely be spending money on is skincare.  I am about to turn the big 30, and with this, I plan on fine tuning my skincare regimen.  More on that later, as I have a collective haul from the past few days!  These were all purchased at Walgreens and Meijer.

Meijer Facial Cleansing Cloths - These were on sale for $2.98...for 60 cloths!  They are super nice, smell really good and are nicely textured and get most makeup off with little to no effort!

Revlon Photoready Airbrush mousse makeup in 050 Medium Beige.  Have used this a few times, and must say, I love it!  Wish they had a larger color selection.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 001 Pink Truffle - Finally got my hands on the color of my dreams!  Such a lovely neutral!

L'Oreal Color Riche Balm w/SPF 15 in 818 Nourishing Nude - perfect glossy nude lips are now mine :)

Maybelline's Color Tattoo 24hr shadow in Pomegranate Punk

Jordana's Easyshine glossy lip color in 08 Sweet Strawberry - smells like my childhood, and just a nice vibrant red!
