Urban Decay Moondust eye shadow in Moonspoon (swatch)

UD Moondust shadow in Moonspoon
Let me start this off by saying that this is one magical shadow...holy sparkle, batman!  This is part of Urban Decay's Moondust shadow collection.  The color I have for you today is Moonspoon!

Ingredients /package
Package front - partial sun / indoor
I purchased this shadow at Ulta for $20 USD, but can also be found at places like sephora, sephora online, urbandecay.com.  All new Urban Decay shadows come in the new style packaging, still the token motif, but the packaging features a pop out pan than can be put into palettes Urban Decay has specifically made.  What I like about the newer packaging?  Feels much sturdier than the older token style compacts.

Package backing / partial sun / indoor
In this lovely pot of awesomeness, you get 1.5g / 0.05oz of product.  Product information reads better in person as the paper used in the packaging is really glittery...it was trying when I was photographing this..

UD Moonspoon shadow - partial sun / indoor
Yes, this looks lovely from here, but it does not compare to when you see it in person.  The level of microfine glitter this has is insane...in the best way!  At first glance in the photo, you can see a base that is described as a medium grey.  When I swatch this, I definitely find this be more taupish, as it hits with a hint of brown that is actually really pretty.  There is more to the sparkle than silver.  In the pan or on the skin, you get reflects of silver, pink, purple, beige and green glitters.

UD Moonspoon shadow - partial sunlight / indoor / no primer
Can we just drool about that sparkle for a second?  These glitters are very, very fine in this.  Like all glittery shadows, I did find some to travel, but the amount is so minute compared to the amount that actually sticks to the base.  This is something I applaud Urban Decay for doing...making a base that is not sticky or bothersome to the eye, in which glitter sticks to.  Depending on how you apply it, there will be some fallout, but I was very surprised by the amount.  It does really well at sticking in that base.

UD Moonspoon shadow - indoor / no flash / no primer
Taken in indirect lighting, you can really see how saturated that sparkle is, and also see some of that hint of brown I was talking about.  There is a wet looking element to this shadow.  In darker lighting, it has a very editorial, grease makeup look to it that is supremely sexy.

Comfort is another thing that comes to mind when wearing this shadow.  It wears nicely and is soft.  I never felt like I had glitter on my lids which is a huge bonus!

You may not be a disco queen, but you really do need this.

Too Faced Exotic Color Intense eye shadow - Petals to the Metal (swatch)

Who is ready for some duochrome goodness?

Too Faced Exotic Color shadow
Here we have Too Faced Exotic Color Intense eye shadow in Petals to the Metal.  This is one of 12 of the Exotic Color range of super saturated, super soft shadows.  I purchased this at Ulta for $18.00 USD.  The lovely Petals to the Metal comes in a plastic, clamshell case that closes shut tightly.  Inside, there is 1.7g/0.06oz of duochromey awesomeness!

Too Faced Petals to the Metal Ingredients
Too Faced Petals to the Metal packaging
Petals to the Metal is a very vibrant, heavily pigmented duochrome eye shadow that is a metallic brown blue. There is also a nice green shift to this shadow, lending it an almost mermaid like color.  I do also notice that sprinkled throughout this shadow are multi glitters.

Too Faced Petals to the Metal
In this picture, the base looks brown, but what looks like an overlay may look taupish.  This was taken in natural light, no flash.

Too Faced Petals to the Metal - sunlight/no flash
In this photo, you can see slightly larger glitters that are sprinkled throughout the shadow.  For me, this was a huge negative as the glitters did not stick with the shadow.  The first few times I used this shadow as soon as I blended, there were glitters all over my cheeks.  It was only then that I could see that they are pretty sizable glitters.

Too Faced Petals to the Metal swatch - no flash/sunlight
From the swatch here, you can see the blue green shift atop of that brown base.  Now, I have other shadows similar to this and Petals to the Metal has the most brown base of those.  The more you pack on, the more the blue-green shift appears.

Too Faced Petals to the Metal swatch - no flash/sunlight
Now here you get a lovely view of the brown base which does have hints of a rusty red in it.  When I blend this on the eye, you get more of that rust color to pop.

Pros: densely pigmented, vivid, long lasting shift
Cons: large glitters that fall out

You can purchase this shadow at toofaced.com, ulta stores and online, sephora stores and online.

Jordana easyshine 12 Sugar Cookie swatch

Do I have an awesome drugstore find for you today!

Jordana easyshine in 12 Sugar Cookie
Jordana 12 Sugar Cookie - outdoor, no flash, overcast
This fantastic lip balm type product was purchased for $1.99 USD at Walgreen's.  I know that you can get them online as well at HERE.  Size is net wt. 0.07 / 1.9 grams.  It is enclosed in classic twist up mechanism, all plastic.  From what I have seen there is twelve colors total in this line.  In my findings, I have only seen Jordana products at Walgreen's.

Jordana easyshines are very glossy lip balms.  If you visit their site, it is even under the lip balm label.  Sugar Cookie is an amazing neutral that works year round for me.  Upon first application, you get a ton of shine and a decent tint of color.  I cannot speak for all of the easyshines, but the ones I do own, have had decent pigment to them.

Jordana easyshine 12 Sugar Cookie - outdoor/overcast/no flash
From this swatch, on my skin it runs a bit reddish brown.  On my lips, it appears a lovely sheer caramel color.

Jordana easyshine 12 Sugar Cookie - flash/overcast/outdoor
With or without flash, this little balm is beautiful on lips like mine, with little to no pigment, and those with naturally pigmented lips!  This lip balm does not last a long time on me, especially if I am eating or drinking.  I would say with normal wear, I get about an hour to two of decent wear.  Once you lose the glossiness, there is a hint of the caramel color left, which I LOVE!  I do not know if all of the colors will leave one.

I have two of these in my collection and plan to get more!  Here's hoping they release more colors :)

YSL Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Lipstick in 11 Rose Culte

This post is not intended for those weak at heart.  What I have for you today is a lipstick so beautiful, daring, vibrant and naughty that I have gotten hot flashes just looking at it.  What is it you ask?

Yves Saint Laurent's (YSL) Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual lipstick in 11 Rose Culte

Alright, enough packaging pics / ingredient information...right?

YSL Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiance - Rose Culte

I purchased this lovely tube of silky goodness at Sephora for $34.00 USD.  Size is net wt. 0.14 oz / 4g of product and it is all contained in a lovely, gold colored, metallic casing.  What I love is how heavy and luxe it feels.  Outside of the main compartment, is a stenciled out YSL insignia with a color ribbon inside, that in this case, it exactly true to the color within.  This is part of the Silky Sensual Radiant line...as YSL has a few other options for Rouges and Voluptes.

Warning:  Those who are sensitive to scented products may not like this.  Those who do, start drooling!
The scent of this is so yummy and appropriate for summer, somewhere between fruity and floral.  It is  impactful upon application, but fades away rather quickly I would say.

The wear of this lipstick is fantastic.  It seems to morph the longer it is on your lips.  Upon first application, this has such a silky, glossy finish...and it is so light on the lips.  This is not a thick formula which boggles my mind as this product is so pigmented.  The lip feel is so light.  Once blended, shine turns into sheen and the lips look lovely.  I love this as a stain as it blends out beautifully...looking semi-matte after the shine wears off.  Do note that on me, this product has stained my lips.  I have tried this both on moisturized and unmoisturized lips and the same effect was that of staining my lips.

YSL RV Silky Sensual #11 Rose Culte - Outdoor, no flash
This is the perfect vivid Fuchsia.  Freshly applied, there is a lot of pink to this color.  Once it has had a chance to sit on the lips, you can really see the cherry red notes pop out!  I have to touch on this point again, as it is really awesome...this is really pigmented and looks thick, almost like a matte lipstick.  But it is a phenomenally light product...perfect for the summer season.

Do you need one of these?  Of course you do!
