My naked palette (version Diana.0)

Urban Decay's Naked palette.

Something I did not pick up and did not care to pick up.

And then the photos started to show up...beautiful looks that were all neutral and gorgeous and...alright, enough of that!

I took a look in my stash and saw that I had what I like to call my naked palette! Colors that were similar to the Naked palette in palettes I already owned...

Cargo's Essentials palette

Cargo's Essential Palette - contains 4 smooth and blendable shadows, with matte and satin textures.  Awesome basic colors that are very soft and creamy.  This is definitely a daily go to palette! :)

Sugar's Day Job Round the Clock palette

Sugar's Round the Clock palette in Day Job.  8 shades ranging from satin, to matte to shimmer.  When I want to wear a more creative eye, but still stay within a neutral color palette, this is where I go.  The texture of these shadows in nice, actually.  The spectrum of colors runs nicely and have had no trouble in getting this to go with everything!  Unfortunately this palette has been discontinued.

Though it may not be THE naked palette, it did let me get more use out of palettes that I had stashed away to the wayside (bad MUAer I know).  I would hope that this would get you gals and guys going on shopping your stash and seeing what hidden gems you uncover.

Sonia Kashuk Brown Eyed Girl Palette

Thank you Target for bringing us the Sonia Kashuk line!!!

If you aren't familiar with her line, please head to your local Target or HERE  to view the products online.

The line ranges from cosmetics, to brushes, bags, etc.  It is all really wonderful stuff and great quality too!

For you today, I have her Brown Eyed Girl Quad:

Sonia Kashuk Brown Eyed Girl palette

Back of palette

This quad contains 4 equal sized pans of glittery color.  You can purchase these for $12.99 USD.  I own 3 of these creamy, glittery palettes.  I must advise, if you dislike glitter, read another post, purchase some other palette.  This is definitely not for the faint of heart!  The colors in it are a champagne, greyed brown, a browny copper, and a forest green.  Now, I know that I said that it is glittery, and it is, but that does not mean it is a fall out, dusty mess.  The consistency of these shadows is almost cream like.  I would hope that you would not confuse that with the NYX style glitter creams, which do not offer anything but a few chunks of glitter within a semi greasy base.  But that is just my opinion.

Open palette

With the consistency of these shadows being "creamy", it is quite nice to use them with your fingers.  They are easy to swipe and place on the eye.  Over a base they are heaven!  I do use brushes with these too, but I find that I like a really tightly packed, small brush for this.  I would not recommend anything fluffy for this.  Though the glitter seems to be suspended in a "base", there is still fall out if you fluff out this color at all.  I control it by patting on color with a dense brush, and fuzzing it out with my finger.  The shadow is pretty easy to move around, which is great.

Swatched  - No base/primer-Natural lighting
These swatches here are just one swipe of the shadows.  I did not use a primer before swatching these.  Now, the glitter in most of these is slightly colored of that of the base shadow, but you really get the sparkle from the silver glitter contained as well.  I love these shadows over colored bases mostly.  Black bases garner the most drama here.

Close up swatches

These shadows really do catch light very well.  At night, they can give the eye a glass like sheen, or like if the lid was covered in gloss.  I hope the glitter does not scare those who do not like it away.  The wear of these is long lasting and comfortable. And once again, they provide such a glowy eye that I cannot imagine everyone not trying them at least once.  For the price point, value, wear...its got my vote!

What Sonia Kashuk products are you guys loving at the moment?

LORAC Showstopper Palette

LORAC Showstopper w/flash
Hello again!  Here is the last palette in this three part series!  This is probably the most elegant of the palettes.  Same basic information as the others...purchased at loraccosmetics.com, same price, same packaging, same formulation, etc.

No flash
The top left hand corner is a light baby peach shimmer.  The top right hand corner is a light peach sheen, almost looks wet.  The bottom left hand corner is a slightly rusted brown, and the bottom right corner is dark gunmetal grey with silver shimmers.  The blush is peach toned with gold glimmer/sheen running throughout.

With Flash over Paula Dorf eye primer

No flash over eye primer
At the price point that I got all of these palettes at, it was a no brainer.  They contain some of the softest shadows I have ever owned, and I like that the palettes are themed.  The colors they contain do work well with one another, and aid in creating simple to fantastic looks.  I suggest you check out LORAC cosmetics!

LORAC Pink Python Palette

Lorac Pink Python palette
Tis the season for brights, huh?  This lovely little palette is Lorac's Pink Python Palette.  You can find this at loraccosmetics.com right now under the sale section @ a whopping $10.99USD!!!!!

This palette consists of 4 buttery soft eye shadows and a cheek color.  The compact is covered in a pink python patterned soft plastic, and the compact itself is a sturdy foam with magnetic seals.  It also comes equipped with a mirror, which is nice.

With flash
This is definitely the brightest of the three palettes.  These shadows are also very soft and buttery.  There are literally no bad shadows here, as far as texture.  Top left hand corner is a golden light yellow, very shimmery.  Top right hand corner is a creamy nude with a slight sheen to it, very muted and extremely gorgeous.  Bottom left hand corner is a bronze that has a bit of orange in it, and also a sheen.  The bottom right hand corner is teal that looks more green in the pan, but wears a bit more blue in real life.

The blush is the only thing in this palette I do not like.  It is a cool baby pink that actually wears wonderfully on lighter skin tones.  I love that there are not any glitters or shimmers that are way too over the top.

Once again, if you can find these, try and get one.  I am hoping to have some looks done with the individual palettes and post them up here.

Bye!

LORAC Snake Charmer Palette

Snake Charmer  - with flash
The Snake Charmer is the next in the LORAC palette series.  This has the same physical attributes that the others have.  I purchased this one at the same time I purchased the others off of the lorac website, found here www.loraccosmetics.com.  Again, this was purchased for $10.99 USD!  Gotta love Lorac's sale section.

Palette without flash

This palette contains very warm / neutral colors and a gorgeous peach blush.  All of the shadows are soooo buttery!  They are some of the smoothest shadows I have ever used.  Even the glittery darker shadow is like butter.  The top left corner is a soft, true, shimmery champagne.  The top right corner is an extremely neutral taupe color.  Taupe lovers will appreciate this one.  Bottom left corner is a brown with slightly bronzey overtones.  Lastly, the bottom right hand corner is a very deep brown with a bit of black mixed in, and gold glitters.  The glitters do not all stay, but you do get some that attach and look very pretty.  The blush, peach with a slight pink sheen running throughout.  There are no glitters in the blush, and the finish of it is very gentle on the skin.

swatches with no flash on base

The only thing I do not like about this palette is that there are no matte shades and I am fond of using both textures to create eye looks.  I find it to work well with any of my brights.  I cannot stress enough how soft these shadows are...a bit of fallout occurs, but the softness adds to the easy blendibility that these shadows have.  For the bargain price I paid for this, it really was a steal.  If you are fan of neutrals, or just want to try LORAC shadows...try to get your paws on this!

Bobbi Brown Downtown Palette

Hey there!

I am really into ordering off of QVC.  It is so addicting.  On one such occasion, I had purchased the Bobbi Brown 6 piece downtown collection.  In this collection, was the downtown palette.

Bobbi Brown Downtown Palette
This neutral palette contains 5 shadows ranging from shimmery to matte.  It also comes with a double ended brush, one end is a fluffy/blending side, the other is synthetic and looks like a concealer brush.  The shadows from left to right are:
Ivory - off white, matte
Heather Lilac - metallic, very sheer, very subtle lilac
Bronze - shimmer wash, nice soft bronze with a gold like sheen
Heather - matte, purple taupe
Black Plum - shimmer wash, darkened purple with gold shimmers

Downtown Palette colors
Ivory takes a while to build up.  It is soft and has a bit of fallout
Heather Lilac takes the longest to build up.  Surface of this shadow is odd, as if I had used this wet when I never have.  You get more shimmer than actual color with this one.
Bronze is soft and easy to work with.  Shimmery without being overload, I like this to smoke out dark bases.
Heather is a smokey, purplish taupe that is flat matte.  I find this to be a great crease color without trying too hard.  I also like it for outer V application.
Black Plum is pigmented, but needs a bit of work to blend.  The shimmer stayed within the shadow, which was nice.  Use a really good base with this...I have found this to skip on some bases.

Swatches over Stila Prime Pot in Taffy
All in all, I like this palette.  I find it hard to find a palette that I like everything it has to offer.  This is one of my to go to's in the fall/winter, or for office looks.  If you would like to see this palette and the other products that came in the kit, please visit qvc.com and enter "bobbi brown" in the search.  This retails on the site for $102.00 USD.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and wonderful Father's Day!
