Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips balm - swatch

Can I start by telling you I was looking for this little pot of rosy goodness everywhere...for a really long time?

The little pot that caused me so much anguish to acquire was Vaseline's Lip Therapy in Rosy Lips.  After a ton of waiting and driving around, I finally found it and what a happy camper I was!!!  Rosy Lips is one of 3 in the potted Lip Therapy line from Vaseline. I found this at my local Walgreen's for just under $2.00 USD.  The other scents this comes in are original vaseline and cocoa butter.  Inside of this magical pot of love, you get .25oz/7g of rosy product.  The container itself is just a super scaled down version of their larger packages.

From the swatch above, Rosy Lips does not offer much in the tinted department, so if that is a quality you are looking for, your not going to find it here :(.  Also, those with a sensitivity to scents may want to stay away...this has a lovely rose scent that actually lingers for an hour or so after application that may irritate those with said sensitivity.  What I love about these little pots is how they are very balmy, as opposed to Vaselines shiny, glossy texture.  The balmy consistency is slightly on the thick side and lasted for a few hours through eating and drinking.

For a basic, quick throw on without a mirror kind of thing...this is definitely up your alley.  Those looking for the normal Vaseline experience may want to steer clear.  I did read sometime ago that there were bottles that were covered in swarovski crystals that were so cute but not very wallet friendly!

I must confess.  I love winged liner.  So much so that I try my hand at it all the time.  I do not know how to do winged liner well...sniff sniff.  I know.  But in loving winged liner, I have come to look for all formulations of liner to help me achieve this look.  When it comes to liquid liner from a high end line, I look to LORAC's Front of the Line PRO.

I purchased Front of the Line PRO from Ulta for $23.00 USD.  This can be also found on LORAC's site, Sephora, etc.  The liner is housed in a plastic pen style format with brush tip.  Inside of the pen, you get 0.02 fl.oz/0.55ml  of liquid goodness.  Click on cap closes tightly and I have never had issues with this popping open in my bag.

There are a few factors that go into making a liquid liner fantastic.  Although, unfortunately, it is a not a view we all uniformly share as we all have our various tastes.  What I look for nice, solid applicator, a smooth formula, quick drying but forgiving to fix mistakes, and an applicator tip that will give me a variety of looks.  Front of the Line PRO has all of these.  The pen itself is lightweight and easy on the hand.  The brush head is the star of the show here!  The brush head consists of tiny, synthetic brush hairs that taper to an extremely fine tip.  This liner will give you the thinnest line imaginable, but is flexible enough to allow for a more thick liner.  That flexibility is money!  When you need it to be strong for a solid, graphic line, it gives that to you.  This is my 3rd purchase of this liner and I have put them through hell...never once did any of my brush heads experience any splaying of any kind.   And it does not dull...How many times have I had a tip that was plastic or fiber where after a few uses it dulls out and no longer produces a crisp, thin line?  Front of the Line PRO's formula is really nice to work with in that you get a semi wet application with a few seconds before drydown to fix mistakes.   In both Charcoal and Black colors, the dry down finish is matte.

For those that are novices or pros of the wing, this works for everyone.  The price point may seem a bit much for some, but you are actually paying for a wonderful product.  Long lasting formula, easy to use, and the product itself lasts a long time.  In no time, you will be a wing drawing PRO!

I never use to take my skincare too seriously.  In my teens and early to mid twenties, anything that said it cleansed and moisturized was usually was I purchased.  I had a couple of staples, but changed skincare as frequently as they went on sale.  Now, in my early 30's, I take much more care in picking out products with quality ingredients and proven results.  One of the areas I concentrate on is the eye area.  Today, I have a wonderful serum for those looking for a nice eye treatment...

Reviva Labs DMAE/Alpha Lipoic/Vitamin C Ester Firming Eye Serum

Reviva Lab's DMAE & Alpha Lipoic & Vitamin C Ester Firming Eye Serum (whew!  that was a mouthful!) is a milky serum chock full of good for you ingredients that firm, reduce the looks of wrinkles, decrease puffiness and reduces dark circles.  For the purposes of this review, we shall, from now on, call this the Reviva Firming Eye Serum.  The Firming Eye Serum can be purchased at revivalabs.com, or you can also purchase this at Ulta.  Contained inside the glass bottle, you will find 1oz./29.5ml of serum that you can dispense through a pump top.  This serum will run you around $19.00 USD.

It took me a bit of time before I got used to using a serum around the eyes.  I am very much a fan of nourishing, semi to very thick lotions and creams for the sensitive eye area.  Anything that would cushion that area was fine in my book.  With the Firming Eye Serum, I was able to get a lightweight product in the vein of a serum, but at a slightly thicker consistency, such as a cream.  The formula of this is really quite lovely.  It is a semi opaque serum/lotion that is extremely lightweight on the skin.  Because this serum has a thicker consistency than what we know from regular serums, you can feel the protective nature of this product.

With all skincare, I took my time in using this product and giving it a good test run.  I did like that after 6 weeks, my skin felt more taut and looked it as well.  I have dark circles due to my sleep schedule and how much I get a night as opposed to heredity.  That was an even longer transition, but around the 2nd month mark, I did notice a slight lightening of my undereye area.  Because the skin is so delicate under the eye, you can see texture.  I have very bumpy skin under my eyes and the Firming Eye Serum aided in making the texture there more delicate.  Less "chicken skin" like and much more smooth.

For a product that actually gives results, can be found relatively easy, and is under the $20 mark, I say take the gamble and give Reviva Lab's Firming Eye Serum a try!
