Ecotools Flawless Face Set brush set

*Disclaimer - Product shown was purchased by passengerelement blog.  I am in no way affiliated with this company or am being paid for my review*

One of my biggest gripes is finding decent travel size brush sets.  All I want are usuable, portable tools that WORK!  I have found that in Ecotools Flawless Face set.  I purchased this set at my local Ulta during a sale, and I was also able to use a coupon as well.  Normally, this 5 piece brush set retails for $14.99 USD.  I have seen Ecotools at Ulta, Walmart, Target, Meijer, etc, and they can always be found online.  This set contains 5 brushes for a fresh and flawless complexion...

The 5 synthetic complexion brushes contained with the Flawless Face set are:

1 flat concealer brush - rounded tip / sturdy with give

2 buffing concealer brush - flat top / soft

3 precision foundation brush - tapered top / flexible

4 complexion blending brush - rounded flat top / soft

5 full powder brush - long bristles / semi tapered but round top

All of these brushes fit perfectly in your hand and are super portable.  This set in particular does not come with a travel bag, but the package it comes in has slots where the brushes fit super snug.

There are some classic and not so classic brush shapes in this set.  I have not used them enough to know which are favorites and which are the stars of this set.  The classic shapes here really do work as multitaskers and I am still finding out ways to use the others, as the shapes lend themselves to purposes other than what they are described as.  If you are in the market for a new travel set, you may want to check them out.

Full review to come soon :)

L'Oreal Wear Infinite Studio Secrets Shadow in 812 Smooth Latte

*Disclaimer - Product shown was purchased by passengerelement blog. I am in no way affiliated with this company or am being paid for my review*

A good nude or skin tone eyeshadow goes a long way in giving a nice even wash of color to the lid and transitioning from one color to the next.  I found a workhorse of a shadow in L'Oreal's Wear Infinite Studio Secrets shadow in Smooth Latte 812.  (whew...that was a mouthful!)

L'Oreal Wear Infinite shadow - Smooth Latte
L'Oreal Wear Infinite packaging
L'Oreal's Wear Infinite shadow in Smooth Latte was purchased at my local meijer for around $4.50 USD.  The shadow comes in a plastic clamshell case which contains 0.1oz/2.8g of product.  Within the compact, you will find a sponge tip applicator.

I do find it a bit strange that on the back of the packaging, this states "for brown eyes" as I think this is a color anyone and everyone could wear.  The instructions on the back also state that this can be used as an allover wash of color or for contouring, and yes, this shadow is perfect for all of that.  Those that are very fair/porcelain may even be able to use it as a facial contour.

L'Oreal Smooth Latte shadow
Smooth latte is versatile and I have tried to find dupes of it in what I have...namely Maybelline's Earthly Taupe and Urban Decay's Naked Basics Naked 2, but neither of them come close.  This is the perfect light, nutty brown that is completely matte.  On  my latina skin, this does show up, but bare in mind, I do have to lay down a few swipes before I get a nice thick color.  Maybe an a porcelain/fair skintone might you get this to show up as a good crease shade.  For everyone else,  Smooth Latte will show nicely as a subtle wash/transition.   The shadow pot itself was silky until a few weeks ago when it started to develop a sheen...some shadows do this because of oil transfer from brushes/fingers, others because of the formula.  I am hoping it is not something all of these shadows do as I really love this color.

At a price point that begs take me home, Smooth Latte should be in your makeup arsenal.  A simple, subtle shadow that works best with others, but can shine on its own as well.

Chella Hello Beautiful Eyes liner in Indigo Bleu - swatch

Chella Hello Beautiful Eyes liquid liner
A good liquid liner is hard to come buy.  Some come with a great brush head, but not so great formula, and vice versa.  From high end to drugstore, I have tried a ton of options, with brush heads being my favorite delivery for liquid liner.  I do not come to expect much out of "marker" type liquid liners, but I am crushing on this quite hard....Chella Hello Beautiful Eyes liquid liner in Indigo Bleu...

I received this liner in one of my Ipsy bags a couple of months ago.  Hello Beautiful eye liners can be found on the Chella site for $24.00 USD.  Contained inside the pen is 1ml/0.034fl.oz of product.  The range is only two colors deep, black and this indigo bleu.  The liner is a plastic barreled pen with a felt tip.

If you head to chella.com right now, you will see what Chella claims this liner's advantages.  From color, to intensity, to wear, this boasts some pretty high claims.  As far as formula, the liquid in this is the perfect consistency.  The tip itself never feels too wet or like it will leak, and is sturdy yet flexible enough to not tug at the eye skin.  I like how long it is...which I like in creating both thin and thick lines with a lot of control.

Chella Indigo Bleu - direct sunlight
How delicious is that blue????  As previously stated, the formula is of a consistency that allows for good flow through the pen to the skin and gives good coverage with one stroke.  Indigo Bleu is very vibrant, but I did find that with an extra layer or two, it deepened a bit, which still makes for a lovely color.  While I wore this for an 8 hour day, it smudged and became less vibrant.  Around the 4 hour mark is when I noticed the product wearing down.   With and without primer, Indigo Blue did stain my lids a bit but nothing an oil based makeup remover couldn't take care of.

Fabulous color and awesome delivery make this a very enticing buy...staying power and staining of the skin leave me wishing it was more.  Was glad I got to try it out!

Maybelline Color Elixir gloss in 065 Caramel Infused

*Disclaimer - Product shown was purchased by passengerelement blog. I am in no way affiliated with this company or am being paid for my review*

I am a red lip girl.  I am obsessed with everything red.  But even more so when it comes to a nude lip.  The journey to finding a perfect nude lip for me is neverending since I do not like a full on nude.  The nude I look for is creamy, juicy, skintone color with a hint of pink, peach or berry to ensure not looking like a corpse.

Thanks to Maybelline...I have found an awesome contender for nude lip of the my life award :) ...

Maybelline Color Elixir in Caramel Infused
Caramel Infused was purchased at my local Meijer for about $6.99 USD.  This lovely gloss is one of 20 permanent shades from the Color Elixir/Color Sensational line from Maybelline.  The packaging is misleading as it looks like a lipstick bullet with a clear case.  In this twist tube, you receive 0.17 fl.oz of product.  The clear body of the tube does allow for almost true to life color of the gloss contained inside.

Maybelline Color Elixir - Caramel Infused
Maybelline states these Color Elixirs are a hybrid between a gloss, lipstick and balm.  I agree with the gloss and balm mix.  The formula of Color Elixir is so unique!  You get a nice, healthy shine and sweet dose of color like you would from a gloss, but you also get a really protected, balmy feeling.  It it wears really nice on the lips, though if you are more into gloss than lipstick or balm, you may not like the semi-thick feeling of this. This has a scent...those averse to products with scents will want to turn straight away!  Though it is not unpleasant or lingering, upon application, these smell a bit of earl grey tea and lemon.  The scent does not last much past initial application, but it may bother those who are sensitive to scents.  The triangular brush head really hugs the curves of the lips and lays product down evenly.

Maybelline Caramel Infused - direct sunlight/no flash
Maybelline Caramel Infused - direct sun / flash on
Caramel Infused is a nude with a big dusty pink influence.  There is nothing "dead" looking about this gloss...it gives the lip the right touch of color.  With my Latina skin color and tone, I was looking for anything that did not read corpse girl lips.  This did it.  While the gloss does not stain my lips, once worn away, you still get a touch of moisture that is rather nice. I found no issues or dryness or flaking while and after wearing this product. Color Elixirs are not sticky and remain shiny while on the lips.  I do have to reapply throughout the day as this is not long lasting.

This is a definitive repurchase for me.  Color, formula, price...it has it all.

Revlon ColorStay liquid liner - Blackest Black (swatch)

Today, let us enjoy the many lovely aspects of this liquid liner...

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner
Revlon CS Liquid Liner - ingredients
I purchased Revlon's Colorstay Liquid Liner at my local Ulta for $7.99 USD.  You can find this at most drugstores everywhere.  Colorstay Liquid Liner comes in two colors, blackest black and black brown.  This liner comes in a pen and well system, both parts being a nice sturdy black plastic.  As for total amount of product, you get 0.08fl.oz/2.5ml inside.  As stated on the package, Revlon claims that this will provide all day wear, as with all of their Colorstay products.

There are two things that I absolutely love about Colorstay Liquid Liner:

1.  Formula - inky liquid that glides easily and grips into place without sucking moisture out of your lids and making them appear crepey.  very opaque black and it is MATTE!

2.  Applicator - the tip of the applicator is semi-flexible and it is built right into the handle.  this took me a minute to get used to, but helps with control and also aides in getting close to the lashline.

Swatches above show that the flexible tip can create thin or thick lines.  Also this shows how truly matte this really is!  It is such a treat to find a liquid liner that has no shine.  I have never had trouble with the tip unraveling and this will be my third bottle.  The container must be shaken to ensure true mix of liquid and it contains a bead to aid in that, much like a bottle of nail polish.  Revlon's colorstay formula dries pretty quickly, which is nice once you have mastered the applicator, but can be a hassle once it comes to fixing mistakes.  I have normal eyelids that after an 8 hour day, get a bit oily and do not have any trouble with this disappearing or smudging.  Long wearing for a normal day or working, running around = yes.

Will definitely repurchase as I have in the past.  Think this is a liner you will want to try out?
